Mrs. Baran received her Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University, with a major in child development and a minor in languages arts. She has also earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from Oakland University in curriculum, instruction, and leadership. Mrs. Baran has special endorsements in early childhood development and administration.
During the past 28 years in the Troy School District, Mrs. Baran has taught grades 3-6. In addition, she has served on various building committees: School Improvement Co-chairperson, Science Chairperson, Department Head, RTI, and the P.E.A.C.E. Committee on Self-esteem.
Mrs. Baran also has coached the seventh grade girls’ basketball team, intramural volleyball and track teams, and was the student council co-advisor. In her spare time, Mrs. Baran enjoys spending time with her family, playing sports, and doing volunteer work. She spends summers working with students on things like aerospace technology at Selfridge Air Force Base.
