Kristine Casko (U.S. History and World History, grades 7/8) was born and raised in Northwest Indiana. After teaching in Indiana for six years she has relocated with her husband to the Detroit area. This is her 13th year teaching for Troy Schools. She has been at Smith for 12 years but also spent time teaching at Troy High in the first few years in the district. She has settled with her husband in West Bloomfield.
Mrs. Casko received her bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Secondary Education in 1997 from Indiana University Northwest, as well as her master’s degree of Secondary Education in 2003. Mrs. Casko also attended Eastern Michigan University and Western Michigan University to earn her minor in Geography.
This year Mrs. Casko has taken on the tasks of co-sponsoring the Relay For Life Smith team and co-sponsoring the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. She is looking forward to another great year.
Mrs. Casko enjoys being with her family, working out, traveling, and doing home improvement jobs. She collects Longaberger baskets and is an ambassador for Plexus Worldwide and an Independent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay.
