Festival of Cultures
The International Club is sponsoring the Festival of Cultures, which will take place at Smith on Thursday, March 21st from 6:30-8:00. Its goal is to make Smith community members feel closer together, more interested in the world, and at the same time appreciative toward all cultures. We want to repeat the success of our festival from 2010 that gathered over 200 people to enjoy delicious food, amazing, colorful displays from various cultures, and interesting activities such as games and henna painting, as well as origami and Chinese calligraphy demonstrations.* Everybody had fun, learned about a number of cultures, and wanted more. Here we come again! Student interested in participating should sign up before February 13th in their history or global studies classrooms.
Students can get more details from their Social Studies teacher or from Mrs. Ostrowski.
- All festival participants need to respect Smith behavior expectations for safety, responsibility, and respect. We are all responsible for clean-up after the event.
- All planned activities need Mrs. Ostrowski’s approval prior to the festival night.
- We are not planning to include performances this year.
